An introduction to the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA): an initiative to improve academic recognition & rewards systems.
Sep 7 2023, 12-1pm EST.
The Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), is both a statement of principles and a worldwide initiative that campaigns for and supports reform of research evaluation practices for hiring, promotion, tenure, and funding decisions. Signing the declaration is an important way for individuals and organizations to publicly declare their commitment to improve research and research practices by supporting a shift towards responsible research assessment (RRA), which has been defined as “an umbrella term for approaches to assessment which incentivise, reflect and reward the plural characteristics of high-quality research, in support of diverse and inclusive research cultures". During this webinar, you will learn about DORA's history and current resources and programming. The aim of this webinar is to provide you with tools and resources to advocate for and implement more responsible research assessment policies and practices.
