Research Proposals - Art and Architecture

Research Proposals - Art and Architecture.
Oct 16 2023, 12-1pm EST.

Research proposals and grants are developed to be reviewed by a human reader. Quality of the content is absolutely essential, but sometimes isn’t enough – many grants are excellent, and tired reviewers reading quickly can easily miss key information they need. Here, we’ll discuss how to use the ‘art and architecture’ of proposals to make it easier for reviewers to read a complex document and find the content that will help your grant get a better review.

Presented by: Dawn McArthur

Dr Dawn McArthur is Director, Research and Technology Development at UBC’s research institute at BC Children's Hospital (BCCHR), western Canada’s largest child health research institute. One of Canada’s first grants facilitators, Dr McArthur has held senior research development positions for 20+ years, starting at SFU (1999-2003). In 2003, she was recruited to BCCHR to establish and lead the Research & Technology Development Office (RTDO), with the mandate to enhance research excellence, capacity, and competitiveness of the Institute's multi-disciplinary research community.
