Oct 25 2023, 12-1:30pm EST.
Planning and preparation is key to executing a successful social activity. All the details have to be worked out prior to the event so that everything goes like clockwork during your special day. During the activity itself, there are many strategies that you will need to employ to stay on top of everything that is going on around you. This presentation will cover the essentials that needs to be considered when executing your social function and outlines basic strategies that you can use throughout your big event from set up to clean up.
This second webinar in the Designing & Executing Successful Research Events certificate series will discuss advice and tips on set up & clean up, instructing judges & session chairs, welcome & housekeeping, organizing the breaks & lunch, working the floor, coordinating the judging session, and acknowledging your volunteers will also be covered. Other things to consider depending on the type of activity include having proper signage, acquiring IT support, monitoring registration table, arranging food deliveries, getting extra help for clean up, labeling food allergens and sending out the evaluation survey.
This special 90-minute presentation will also include examples of planning aids to help you execute your next function. This will be followed by a 30-minute interactive question & answer period.
