Strategies in Navigating Audits
Navigating audits, especially in the context of higher education, where financial constraints are causing staff shortages, can indeed be challenging. We will discuss common audit challenges like in kind contributions and supporting documentation requirements.
We will discuss some strategies to better manage auditors and their extensive information requests and thereby reduce the burden associated with audits.

Angela Zeno
Angela Zeno is a long-time leader in CARA's finance community and has been recognized for her achievements in welcoming new colleagues to CARA, co-developing conferences workshops for fellow finance experts, and presenting research finance webinars to our membership. Angela is a networking catalyst among research finance professionals and she has helped created a collegial, dynamic community of her peers.
Phil Thomas
Philip Thomas has two decades of experience in research financial administration. As a manager, team leader, trainer and consultant he has worked for several institutions from the transaction review level up to the policy development level. Philip is currently the Senior Manager, Research Grants and Contracts at the University of Guelph.
