Sarah Lampson

Executive Director

Sarah was appointed Executive Director in 2013 after more than a decade as a research administrator in various progressive roles at a university, funding agency and hospitals. Sarah co-authored the reference book The A-Z Guide to Research Contract Review, its companion study guide and Steer Your Career: A Research Administrator's Manual for Mapping Success which are in use at more than 500 institutions globally. Sarah received national and international recognition for her contributions to research administration and is a faculty member in the Research Administration Certificate at Mohawk College. A Certified Association Executive, Sarah was recognized with the 2017 Emerging Talent Award from the Trillium Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives. With the support and leadership of the CARA board and many other great volunteers, Sarah has brought many new programs and initiatives to CARA and looks forward to another year of service to our members. 

Michel Kafrouny

Communication, Membership, and Programs Manager

Michel graduated with a Bachelor's of Science with a major in Business Management and a minor in Hospitality & Tourism Management. He decided to move to Canada in 2017 and pursue his post graduate studies and graduated with a Masters in Event Management. Michel always has possessed a strong desire to engage beyond the mere sense of being involved. During the past years, he has been very active in many extra-curricular activities, parallel to his academic life. The skills he has grasped and gained through the roller-coaster ride he was on have allowed him to succeed academically and professionally through the numerous successful events and achievements as an employee. With every major highlight he has been involved in throughout the past years, his sense of responsibility, volunteerism, teamwork, creativity, hard work, attention to detail, time management, and leadership developed further and became embedded in his personality and mode of life.
