Position title: Translation Volunteer
Interest Area: Professional Development & Communications
Responsibilities: Translators help ensure the CARA Connection newsletter, materials for students in the Certification programs and other resources are available in French. With the goal of all CARA communications being bilingual, we always welcome more volunteers.
Hours: As needed

Position title: Virtual Volunteer (Twitter) 
Interest Area: Communications
Responsibilities: Re-tweet and/or quote tweets from @cara-acaar on a weekly basis with the goal of raising awareness of CARA in support of our programs, services, membership, and volunteer goals.
Hours: 15 minutes/week, minimum 3 month commitment

Position title: Research Administration Certificate Program Ambassador 
Interest Area: Professional Development & Communications
Responsibilities: Educate fellow research administrators about the Research Administration Certificate opportunity at Mohawk College through blog posts, CARA Connection articles, social media and/or in-person presentations at institutions and conferences. CARA has a slide deck available for you to present at your institution or others in your area and funds may be available from CARA to sponsor refreshments.

Position title: LinkedIn Community Curator
Interest Area: Communications

Position title: Contributing Editor
Interest Area: Communications (Writing/Editing)
Responsibilities: Solicit, write and edit articles for CARA’s bi-monthly newsletter. Working as part of the newsletter team, you write articles in your area of expertise and recruit diverse writers to publish in the CARA Connection.
Hours: 1+ hour/month

Position title: Webinar Presenter
Interest Area: Professional Development
Responsibilities: Develop and present a webinar in your particular area of expertise. CARA coordinates the advertising, scheduling and webinar platform. Presenters submit an abstract and bio for review by the Chair, Professional Development and for advertising. The presenter does a systems test prior to the webinar and the webinar is moderated by the CARA staff (please contact for a list of topics).
Hours: 1 hour webinar plus preparation time. Webinars are scheduled for speaker convenience.

Position title: Mentor 
Interest Area: Professional Development
Hours: 1-2 hours/month
Travel Required: No, but you may be able to meet your mentee at the National Conference.


Position title: Awards Committee Member
Interest Area: Professional Excellence and Recognition
Responsibilities: Depending on the number of award nominations and committee members, each member will review and rank all nominations for one or several awards. This committee requires no meetings, a review is done blind by each committee member in December.
Hours: 1-2 hours in December
Travel Required: No
