What is your current position/title?

Research Support Coordinator

Why did you initially join CARA?

Improve and develop my knowledge about research process in Canada and know about rules better.

Why did you pursue the Research Administration Certificate?

I was advised by my supervisor that this will help you to understand pre and post award process better and you will learn all you need to know to peruse your carrier in research administration and this is the step that you should start with.

How did the Research Administration Certificate help you overcome the challenges you face at work?

Well, I only started one course which is EIG, I learnt that how I can help researchers to apply for ethics approval and how important it is and I know how an application will be successful so I can help them better.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?

I immigrated to Canada about 2 years ago and now that I have this job I am really in love with doing project especially now that I can see that I have a role to help researchers to help my society during COVID pandemic, So I will study as much as I can and will try my best to make this role bigger and bigger and be able to understand all aspects of research administration to be able to help in any step of it. Maybe not is 5 years but I know in future I can have a more important role in research administration. I can be a professional post award person to help researchers in processing their project in time wise or financial wise.
