Back for 2025 - Join our monthly “Let’s Talk AI” Club sessions!
As the field of generative AI rapidly evolves, research administrators face the challenge of staying informed. Our sessions feature expert speakers who delve into practical applications of generative AI tools. Learn how to harness this technology effectively in research administration. Engage in group discussions and get your questions answered during our Q & A period.

April Topic: “So, what is everyone in this department working on right now?” Creating an AI-enabled solution for keeping researchers in the loop with one another.
Here’s the problem: due to many factors, pressures, and demands, researchers often don’t possess a clear sense of what their colleagues are working on—even colleagues in their own departments, centres, institutes, labs, and networks. Furthermore, the cost of a human manually collecting, collating, and communicating this information is prohibitive, unsustainable, and doesn’t scale. This situation creates barriers in research collaboration, efficiency, and interdisciplinarity.

With the emergence of AI, we have an opportunity to reimagine and reinvent new ways to share research activity and impact, with both internal audiences and external research stakeholders. In this session, we explore ways to leverage AI for greater internal connectivity, especially at the level of faculty departments, centres, institutes, labs, and multi-institutional research networks. We will also share an internally developed prototype app that aims to streamline information flows among researchers.
