You might assume your data is only at risk when you deliberately send it somewhere. But what about the software already running quietly in the background, collecting telemetry, listening, recording, pattern matching — the browser extension you installed last year, the AI assistant embedded in your workflow, the app that asked for more permissions than it probably needed?

We'll take a close look at the growing surveillance risks inside tools that feel innocuous, and explain why the line is blurring between a tool that operates only on your device and one that reaches further beyond it than most people realize in the world altered by AI.
