Kirstyn, a seasoned and certified Project Management Professional (PMP), who cultivated her early career in the United Kingdom specializing in the education sector. She excels in rescuing projects teetering on the edge of failure and transforming them into delivering outcomes on time and budget. Her expertise spans various crucial roles within education, including teaching, government liaison, compliance, continuous improvement, policy development, and operations management. 

In 2018, Kirstyn strategically transitioned to the University of Calgary, where she serves as a Contracts Specialist in Research Services. Leveraging her extensive educational background, Kirstyn offers a fresh perspective to her role. She meticulously navigates the complexities of policy frameworks and leads the charge in implementing transformative process improvements. Kirstyn's approach to contract negotiation is characterized by innovation and adaptability, using creative and occasionally unconventional approaches are her tools to navigate challenging contracting obstacles.


Ross Huyskamp

Ross Huyskamp is a Research Contracts Advisor at the McMaster Industry Liaison Office, where he is primarily responsible for the Faculty of Engineering. With over 5 years of experience, Ross has honed his expertise developing proposals for co-funding opportunities (particularly NSERC Alliance) and negotiating research agreements of all sizes, including large-scale multi-million dollar strategic projects. Ross is knowledgeable and direct but ensures that terms are reasonable and flexible to support mutually beneficial research relationships, whether with academic institutions or industry. His adaptable and cooperative negotiation style has won him accolades from researchers, fellow administrators, and industry partners.
