Leveraging Research for Innovation: Building a High-Performing Innovation Office

Leveraging Research for Innovation: Building a High-Performing Innovation Office
Oct 22 2024, 12-1PM EST.

Building an innovation office within a traditional research administrative structure involves a strategic approach to integrate innovative practices, while maintaining the integrity of established administrative processes.

Our primary objective was to foster a culture of innovation, streamline the transition from research to real life application, and enhance our institution's overall research impact.
Key steps included securing leadership buy-in, defining our mission, and finding a sustainable way to support this additional mandate.

This journey began in 2023 and has already yielded results, demonstrating the power of integrating innovation into the core of our research enterprise. While challenges have been encountered, valuable lessons have also been learned, and we are eager to share our experiences and inspire others to embark on their own innovation journeys.
