Project Management in Funding Applications
We will introduce our game-changing Project Management Toolkit and how we use it to help researchers from postdocs to senior faculty in their grant application development.
This webinar was a session at the 2024 CARA National Conference.
Priya Jaggi:
I joined the Grant Development Office (GDO) in 2022. I completed my Masters in Science at the University of Alberta and have over 10 years of experience providing project coordination and management for health policy related research. I previously managed a large research portfolio for medical residents, involving matching residents to their research interests and funding opportunities. For 6 years, I was extensively involved in leading nation-wide, multi-centered studies involving patient-reported measure development and validation, and curriculum development for healthcare providers. My current portfolio in the GDO supports many of the NSERC funding programs, CIHR Strategic opportunities, Alberta Innovates AICE, and Genome Canada funding.
Vienna M. Doenni:
I have been part of the Grant Development Team since 2021. I am a neuroscientist by training (M.Sc. from VU Amsterdam and Ph.D. from UCalgary), with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences (Maastricht University), and extensive training in science writing and entrepreneurship. I recently obtained my PMP certification through the Project Management Institute. In a previous role I have supported non-for-profit organizations in youth mental health and resilience.
My current role is to support postdocs in the Cumming School of Medicine with their funding, fellowship and prize applications to all agencies. I also host workshops and seminar to support postdocs to make the most of their time at UCalgary.
