Members who register and attend Part 1 and Part 2 of "AI All Over The Place: AI Foundations" will receive a CARA "AI Foundations" certificate.
AI is everywhere and with it has come hype, fear, pressure, FOMO, uncertainty, and stress. This two part series will examine where we are right now in the ever-changing AI landscape. Starting with first principles and following how we got to where we are today. The sessions will take a practical approach to provide a realistic view into the spectrum of AI right now, and how it is impacting individuals and our organizations.
Members who register and attend Part 1 and Part 2 of "AI All Over The Place: AI Foundations" will receive a CARA "AI Foundations" certificate.
Part One - Will attempt to answer the question "Where should I be, personally, with respect to AI?"
Part Two - Will attempt to answer the question "Where should my organization be with respect to AI?"

Scott Baker manages the Research Cybersecurity and Compliance team at UBC Advanced Research Computing: a group focused on supporting researchers in navigating compliance requirements and finding secure solutions for their project architectures and research data. He is a member of the program leadership committee for UBC's Privacy & Information Security Management program. He is also a member of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada national security council where he chairs the governance and policy working group.
