The Canadian Association of Research Administrators (CARA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Brown as President.
 
A nationally respected research administrator, Rachel is the first research administrator from a college to lead the Association. Rachel was initially appointed to CARA's Board in 2019, serving most recently as Vice President and national conference chair for 3 years.
 
A graduate of Niagara College’s Business Administration – Operations Management program, Rachel is also the Manager, Finance Operations and Compliance at Niagara College where she oversees all department budgets and financial reporting for the division, making strategic decisions on spending related to funder and agency compliance.
 
CARA is the national voice for research administrators in Canada and a nationwide community that brings together research administration professionals fulfilling a diverse range of roles in a field that is complex and ever evolving. With over 1000 members, our professional organization's strength is in its diversity and comprehensive approach to research administration. CARA is a founding member of the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) that brings together research management societies and associations from across the globe.
 
CARA thanks Rachel for her continued leadership on the Board in her new role, and the contribution she will make directing the overall activities of the Association, towards the continued growth and success of the profession of research administration in Canada and internationally.
